Vietnam boosts diplomatic outreach and calls for police modernization
Vietnam marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with the Philippines by sending official congratulations. President and Communist Party leader To Lam urged the construction of a modern, elite People’s Police force to enhance national security and digital governance.
In parallel, Vietnamese officials deepened bilateral ties with several partners: a delegation led by Le Minh Tri met a Chinese Communist Party senior in Chongqing to strengthen regional cooperation; Prime Minister Le Minh Hung pledged favorable conditions for Greek investors and called for expanded economic collaboration; and commemorations with Cuba highlighted the historic 73rd anniversary of the Moncada barracks assault. Domestically, the National Assembly’s Standing Committee examined reforms to the Criminal Procedure Code, while senior leaders outlined a five‑pillar strategy to accelerate artificial‑intelligence development as a driver of socio‑economic transformation.
