Vietnam business confidence remains high as EuroCham reports 78.3 BCI score
The European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (EuroCham) reported that the Business Confidence Index (BCI) for the third quarter of 2026 reached 78.3 points. While this represents a slight decrease of 1.4 points from the previous quarter, the figure remains among the highest in the survey's history.
Survey results indicate strong long-term commitment to the Vietnamese market, with 90% of businesses willing to recommend Vietnam as an investment destination. Specifically, 63% of companies plan to continue operations in the country for over five years, and 23% have an investment horizon exceeding 20 years.
Sector performance showed significant divergence. The agriculture and food value chain sector saw a notable increase of 11.7 points, reaching 83.9 points. Conversely, the tourism and hospitality sector experienced a sharp decline of 22.5 points, falling to 67.9 points due to operating costs and shifting demand.
Despite the positive outlook, businesses highlighted ongoing challenges. Approximately 60% of companies cited administrative procedures and paperwork as a major obstacle, and 77% of businesses reported facing at least five different operational challenges.
