Vietnam business update: Dividend payouts and beverage industry recovery

Vietnamese businesses are showing varied financial performance, with significant activity in dividend distributions and industry-wide recoveries. Approximately 27 companies are scheduled to finalize dividend rights during the week of August 24-28, with nearly 23 offering cash dividends. Notable payouts include Sonadezi (SDV) at 25%, Vicem Logistics (HTV) at 15%, and Pharmedic (PMC) at 19.64%.

In the beverage sector, the beer and alcohol industry has seen a recovery driven by prolonged hot weather. Out of 17 companies reporting second-quarter results, 15 showed higher profits compared to the same period last year, with five companies successfully transitioning from losses to profits. Major players Sabeco and Habeco dominated the sector, accounting for 91% of the group's market capitalization, reporting combined revenues of 18,110 billion VND and after-tax profits of 2,800 billion VND in the first half of the year.
