Vietnam businesses face human resource and capital challenges

A seminar held in Hanoi on October 24, 2026, addressed the necessity for Vietnamese enterprises to optimize human resource management and standardize legal compliance to ensure sustainable development. The event, organized by the Hanoi Investment Promotion and Business Support Center and Van Long Group, highlighted the need for businesses to adapt to digital transformation and shifting market dynamics.

Experts at the seminar emphasized the importance of attracting and developing talent, particularly addressing the changing expectations of Gen Z. Discussions also focused on navigating complex labor laws, including regulations regarding wages, insurance, and employment contracts, to mitigate operational risks.

Separately, data indicates that women-led businesses in Vietnam face significant hurdles in accessing formal credit. While women own approximately 24% to 27% of total enterprises, only 37% have access to bank capital, compared to 47% for male-led businesses. Most of these female-owned enterprises are small or micro-scale, which limits their ability to meet collateral and credit requirements.
