Vietnam car market sees widespread price cuts across major brands

From the start of July 2026, Vietnam's automotive market entered a competitive pricing phase. Major manufacturers adjusted list prices and boosted incentives. KIA reduced prices for the Sonet, Seltos and Carens by 10‑36 million VND per model, with some models receiving up to 70 million VND in discounts. Toyota cut the Camry HEV Premium by 140 million VND, while Honda lowered the HR‑V G by 30 million VND. Hyundai’s Palisade saw a 160‑170 million VND reduction, and VinFast’s electric cars were discounted by 17‑170 million VND, roughly 10 % of the vehicle value. Mitsubishi increased incentives for the Destinator and Xforce, and Toyota raised incentives for the Vios and Yaris Cross.

The price moves follow weaker-than‑expected sales in the first half of 2026, high inventory levels and the cultural “month of Ngậu” when consumers traditionally avoid large purchases. The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) reported total sales of 328,818 vehicles, a 29 % year‑on‑year increase, but noted a dip in June sales for both VAMA members and Hyundai. Industry experts say the discounts aim to stimulate demand amid a challenging market environment.
