Vietnam Catholic Bishops host 57th Liturgical Music Workshop

The 57th Liturgical Music Workshop, organized by the Liturgical Music Commission of the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Vietnam, took place on October 13, 2026, in Ho Chi Minh City.

Under the theme ‘Responsiveness in Liturgical Sacred Music,’ the workshop featured a presentation by musician P. Kim. The discussion focused on four key areas: participation in Mass and the concept of ‘cho identity,’ responsiveness within the structure of texts through plainchant, the relationship between the choir and the congregation in Vietnamese sacred music, and various pastoral challenges and directions.

The event was chaired by Bishop Đaminh Đặng Văn Cầu and attended by music leaders from 27 dioceses, seminary instructors, and various religious music specialists.
