Vietnam celebrates 80 years of railway industry tradition

Vietnam is marking the 80th anniversary of the traditional day of the railway industry (October 21, 1946 – October 21, 2026) through various commemorative activities. Events held at the Gia Lam Railway Factory included a singing festival for railway workers and meetings with historical witnesses.

Participants shared stories of resilience, such as workers maintaining production during heavy bombings in 1972 and the sacrifices made by youth volunteers during the war. The celebrations also highlighted the multi-generational continuity within the sector, noting several families with four to five generations who have dedicated their careers to the railway industry.
