Vietnam celebrates national identity through music and theater
Vietnam has seen significant cultural displays of patriotism through large-scale musical events and theatrical productions. At the ‘Tổ quốc trong tim’ (Fatherland in My Heart) national concert held at My Dinh National Stadium in August 2025, approximately 50,000 spectators gathered to watch a performance featuring 68 soldiers from Army Officer School 1. These soldiers, who previously participated in a military parade at Red Square in Moscow, performed to the national anthem, ‘Tiến quân ca’.
In a separate cultural highlight, the Youth Theatre of Vietnam in Hanoi staged a musical adaptation of the literary work ‘Tuổi thơ dữ dội’ (Fierce Childhood) by author Phung Quan. Directed by Le Anh Tuyet, the production focuses on the story of Mung, a young boy who joins the resistance forces during the war against the French. The musical aims to convey the revolutionary ideals and sacrifices of young soldiers through a combination of singing, dancing, and acting.
