Vietnam Cinema Department orders removal of ‘Playboyy’ series from iQIYI
Vietnam's Cinema Department has ordered iQIYI International Singapore PTE. LTD to remove the Thai television series ‘Playboyy: The Series’ (Season 1) from its digital platforms in the country.
Following a review, authorities determined the 14-episode series contained vulgar language, audio, and imagery, alongside frequent and detailed depictions of sexual behavior. Consequently, the department classified the content as Category C, which prohibits its distribution under the 2022 Cinema Law.
The order required the removal of the series from the iQIYI app and website within 24 hours of the notice issued on September 29, 2026. Reports indicate that iQIYI has since completed the removal of all episodes for users accessing the service from Vietnamese territory.
