Vietnam cinnamon exports reach record $300 million in 2025

Vietnam's cinnamon industry has reached record-breaking heights, becoming a major economic driver for the country. As of 2023, the total cinnamon cultivation area in Vietnam exceeded 186,000 hectares.

According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), 2025 marked the most successful year in the industry's history, with total exports reaching 120,295 tons and a turnover of $300.2 million. Despite having a lower production volume than Indonesia and China, Vietnam has achieved higher export value through high-value processing. The country utilizes all parts of the plant: leaves and branches for essential oils, bark for spices and medicine, and wood for construction and household goods.

In July 2025, Vietnam's cinnamon export turnover reached $30.3 million from nearly 12,000 tons, significantly outpacing the combined export values of China ($6.6 million) and Indonesia ($10.3 million).
