Vietnam coach Kim Sang-sik outlines attack options before Korea training camp
Vietnam national team head coach Kim Sang‑sik said the squad is weighing several attacking combinations that include naturalised forwards Nguyễn Xuân Son, Đỗ Hoàng Hên and Nguyễn Tài Lộc. “Thời gian qua là giai đoạn đội tuyển Việt Nam cải thiện thể lực,” he told reporters after the final domestic training session in Hanoi before the team departs for a two‑week camp in South Korea.
During the Korean stay the side will play friendlies against clubs from the K‑League 3, 2 and 1, providing a chance to test tactics and assess individual performances. The coach also highlighted the appointment of former Korean international Kim Do‑heon as his new assistant, noting, “Trợ lý mới của tôi, ông Kim Do‑heon có sự nghiệp thi đấu phong phú … sẽ hỗ trợ cho Quang Hải, Hoàng Đức.” Kim Sang‑sik expressed regret that promising youngster Khoa Ngô will miss the camp due to injury but remained confident in the depth of the youthful pool, mentioning players such as Đinh Quang Kiệt and Nguyễn Ngọc Mỹ. The preparations aim to sharpen the team for the upcoming AFF (ASEAN) Cup 2026, with the goal of defending the title.
