Vietnam coffee exports reach record $8.5 billion
Vietnam's coffee industry achieved record-breaking results during the 2025-2026 crop year. According to Do Xuan Hien of the Vietnam Coffee-Cocoa Association (VICOFA), coffee production reached approximately 1.9 million tons, representing a 6-10% increase from the previous year. Robusta beans accounted for over 90% of total production, maintaining Vietnam's position as a leading global supplier.
Export turnover reached a historic high of $8.5 billion, with an export volume of approximately 1.8 million tons. This reflects a 21% increase in volume compared to the 2024-2025 period. Green coffee beans remained the primary export commodity, generating nearly $7 billion in revenue.
The European Union served as the largest market, accounting for 43.8% of export volume and 41.3% of total value. Germany emerged as the top individual importer during the first nine months of 2026, purchasing over 217,300 tons of Vietnamese coffee valued at nearly $871 million.
