Vietnam communes implement grassroots development initiatives

Local authorities and community organizations in various Vietnamese communes are implementing grassroots initiatives to improve living standards and administrative accessibility.

In Van Chan, the Vietnam Fatherland Front has launched the “Weekend with the People” program, involving officials in environmental sanitation, road maintenance, and agricultural support. This initiative has facilitated economic development, such as providing seedlings and labor to help families expand production.

Infrastructure development is a major focus in highland areas like Pa Co and Phong Du Thuong. In Pa Co, the concrete paving of roads has connected residential areas to production zones, easing the transport of crops like tomatoes and cabbage. Similarly, in Phong Du Thuong, residents have contributed land and labor to complete kilometers of rural roads, which are expected to boost both local trade and experiential tourism.

In Coc San, the “Skilled Mass Mobilization” movement has introduced mobile administrative service teams. These teams travel to remote and disadvantaged villages to assist ethnic minority residents with complex legal and land transfer procedures, bringing government services directly to those with limited mobility.
