Vietnam community legal bookshelves face declining use
Community and legal bookshelves located in cultural houses across various localities are facing declining effectiveness. While these collections were once vital tools for disseminating legal information to citizens, many have become underutilized.
In areas such as the Minh Tan 4 residential group in Yen Bai, residents report that although bookshelves contain diverse materials, they are rarely borrowed. Local leaders note that the rise of digital transformation has shifted how people access information. Citizens now find it more convenient to research laws via Google or the VNeID application on smartphones and computers, leading to the gradual obsolescence of physical legal libraries.
