Vietnam conducts large-scale firefighting and rescue drills

Authorities in Vietnam conducted large-scale firefighting and rescue drills to improve emergency response capabilities.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Xuyen A General Hospital held a simulation involving nearly 400 participants. The drill assumed an electrical short circuit in an oncology treatment area, leading to smoke spreading while the automatic alarm system was under maintenance. The scenario included 375 trapped individuals and 20 injuries, alongside a simulated traffic accident blocking access. Emergency forces utilized 143 personnel and various specialized vehicles to control the situation.

In Can Tho, a city-level drill took place at the Hong Loan 5C apartment complex, involving over 450 people and 63 vehicles. The simulation featured a multi-layered emergency, including a vehicle fire in a parking garage and a gas leak in a high-rise apartment. Advanced equipment, such as firefighting robots and smoke extraction vehicles, were deployed to manage the crisis and rescue approximately 500 simulated victims.
