Vietnam courts Swiss investors for new International Financial Centre
Former German Vice Chancellor Philipp Rösler, serving as Vietnam’s honorary consul in Zug, highlighted the role of trust and the Vietnam‑Switzerland Economic Forum in linking business communities and attracting high‑tech, innovation‑driven investment to Vietnam.
At a Zurich roundtable on July 28, senior Vietnamese officials—including Deputy Prime Minister Thang, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc and State Securities Commission chairwoman Vu Thi Chan Phuong—invited Swiss and European investors to participate in the development of Vietnam’s International Financial Centre in Ho Chi Minh City and Danang. They emphasized opportunities in AI, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, green finance and the circular economy, and addressed questions on foreign‑ownership rules, tax incentives and market infrastructure.
