Vietnam Customs enhances border trade facilitation and agricultural exports
Vietnam Customs is implementing new measures to facilitate cross-border trade and resolve procedural bottlenecks for businesses. The Customs Department is developing a scheme to unify specialized inspections for persons, vehicles, and goods at border gates to streamline operations.
To support enterprises, the department has established dedicated hotlines, including a general switchboard (19009299) and email support, to handle inquiries regarding electronic customs procedures and the National Single Window. In high-traffic border areas such as Lang Son, Quang Ninh, and Lao Cai, direct communication groups have been set up to provide immediate assistance to businesses.
In Lang Son province, specifically at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Tan Thanh Border Gate, there is a significant increase in the export of fresh agricultural products, particularly durian. Authorities are coordinating to manage high volumes of traffic, which currently reaches approximately 1,000 vehicles per day. Efforts are focused on balancing rapid customs clearance for perishable goods with strict enforcement of phytosanitary standards, origin traceability, and quarantine requirements.
