Vietnam Day held in Vladivostok to promote culture and trade
The Consulate General of Vietnam in Vladivostok, in coordination with local authorities, organized the first “Vietnam Day in the Far East 2026” on October 3. The event aimed to promote Vietnamese culture, economy, and tourism to residents and international visitors in the Russian Far East.
Consul General Nguyen Viet Kien highlighted the region's strategic importance as a gateway to the Asia-Pacific and noted the deep historical ties between Vietnam and Russia, recalling that President Ho Chi Minh visited Vladivostok on three occasions. The celebration sought to strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two nations and showcase the contributions of the Vietnamese community to the sustainable development of the region.
The program included musical performances by students from the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) and an “Ao dai Festival,” which showcased the evolution of the traditional Vietnamese garment from the 17th century to modern designs. The event also featured Vietnamese cuisine, folk games, and presentations on the country's economic and tourism potential.
