Thailand advances to ASEAN Cup 2026 final

Thailand has secured a place in the 2026 ASEAN Cup final after defeating Singapore with a 4-3 aggregate score. Despite a 2-1 loss in the second leg at Rajamangala Stadium, Thailand's 3-1 victory in the first leg proved decisive. Singapore's goals were scored by Harhys Stewart and an own goal by Pansa Hemviboon, while Kakana Khamyok scored a penalty for Thailand.

In the other semifinal, Vietnam holds a commanding 2-0 lead over Malaysia following the first leg in Kuala Lumpur. Vietnam, led by coach Kim Sang-sik and striker Nguyễn Xuân Son, is favored to advance to the final at My Dinh Stadium. Malaysia's interim coach, Tan Cheng Hoe, has cited historical comebacks to inspire his squad to overturn the deficit.

The final will be a two-legged affair between Thailand and either Vietnam or Malaysia, scheduled for late August 2026.
