Vietnam delegation completes leadership program at Columbia University

A high-level Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Van Thang, has concluded the 2026 Vietnam Leadership Program (VLP) at Columbia University in New York. The three-day program involved discussions with American experts and scholars at the Weatherhead East Asian Institute.

Deputy Prime Minister Thang noted that the program's discussions provided practical insights for Vietnamese policy formulation and implementation. He emphasized that to achieve double-digit growth and long-term national goals, Vietnam must maintain macroeconomic stability and proactively adapt to external shocks.

Key drivers for Vietnam's future growth identified include science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and modern financial infrastructure. Strengthening institutions and national competitiveness is viewed as essential for deeper integration into global value and supply chains.
