Vietnam Deputy Minister Dang Hong Duc promoted to General
On 31 July 2026, at the Presidential Office in Hanoi, General Secretary and President To Lam presided over a ceremony awarding Deputy Minister of Public Security Dang Hong Duc a promotion from lieutenant general to the rank of general (Thượng tướng). The decision recognized his contributions to the nation’s security and his long service in the police force.
Dang Hong Duc, born in 1977 in Ninh Bình, is a member of the 14th Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam. His career has included roles such as deputy head of the Political Protection Department, secretary to the Minister of Public Security, director of the Yên Bái provincial police, and chief of staff of the Central Public Security Party Committee before becoming deputy minister. The promotion was presented as an honor for his dedication to the Party, the state, and the people.
