Vietnam Deputy PM directs resolution of stalled projects and APEC 2027 infrastructure

Vietnam's Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc has directed efforts to resolve issues surrounding stalled and long-standing projects, as well as to accelerate infrastructure development for the 2027 APEC Summit.

Regarding stalled projects, data from the Steering Committee 751 indicates there are 4,846 problematic projects nationwide, covering 208,882 hectares with a total investment value of approximately 3,498,889 billion VND. While some localities and ministries have shown progress, challenges remain in data synchronization, inter-agency coordination, and a tendency among some officials to avoid responsibility.

For the 2027 APEC Summit, the government is prioritizing key infrastructure. This includes the road connecting Gia Binh airport to Hanoi and the Phu Quoc International Airport. Authorities in Hanoi and Bac Ninh have been instructed to expedite land clearance and material supplies, while An Giang province must ensure infrastructure meets summit requirements. The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized a clear matrix of responsibility to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
