Vietnam education sector focuses on academic excellence and exam integrity

The University of Da Nang recently held its 15th annual program, ‘Honoring Valedictorians and Supporting Students,’ to recognize academic achievement and foster talent in the Central and Highlands regions. During the event, the university honored valedictorians from nine member institutions and recognized 32 outstanding students for the 2025-2026 academic year. Notable achievements included a student from the University of Science and Technology winning the ‘VietFuture’ award for a laser-based weeding robot project.

In a separate development regarding educational standards, authorities are addressing exam fraud following an incident at Tuyen Quang High School for the Gifted. The incident, which required 328 candidates to retake exams, has prompted calls for increased accountability and stricter prevention measures. This follows Directive No. 37/CT-TTg issued by the Prime Minister, which emphasizes the need for early detection of irregularities through data analysis, technological applications, and enhanced supervision of local examination processes.
