Vietnam educational institutions align training with industry needs

Vietnamese educational institutions are implementing various models to align academic training with practical labor market demands. Da Nang University has actively adjusted its curricula and graduation standards by consulting with industry experts, particularly in the digital industry sector. In the first half of 2026, the university signed 132 cooperation agreements, including partnerships with 42 technical and technological corporations. Notable initiatives include the “Learn-Work” program with CT Group and partnerships with high-tech zones.

Other regional examples include a five-year, 50 billion VND training program between Nha Trang University and Minh Phu Group, and the Co-op model at Tra Vinh University, which allows students to alternate between study and long-term internships.

In the medical sector, efforts are being made to improve the quality of residency training to increase the number of specialized doctors. While institutions like the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City are expanding enrollment in fields such as medicine, dentistry, and traditional medicine, there remains a significant imbalance in enrollment across different medical specialties, necessitating better human resource orientation to meet healthcare system needs.
