Vietnam Electricity (EVN) posts profit, opens VR safety training centre

Vietnam Electricity (EVN) reported a net profit of VND 51.9 trillion for the first half of 2026, with total revenue of about VND 352.8 trillion. The results eliminated the cumulative losses that had accumulated since 2022, marking the first profit‑making period for the state‑owned utility in recent years.

The Northern Vietnam Power Corporation (EVNNPC), a subsidiary of EVN, inaugurated a new Electrical Safety and Hazard Identification Training Centre at the Northern Power College (NPEC). The centre features nine virtual‑reality training modules that simulate common grid‑operation hazards such as electric shock, high‑voltage steps, and work‑at‑height risks. In the same period EVNNPC commissioned a 5 MW/10 MWh battery energy storage system at the 110 kV Song Khê substation, the first phase of its grid‑scale storage project.
