The Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) issued an urgent nationwide warning about a new phishing scheme that uses SMS messages masquerading as communications from its EVN Customer Service ("EVN CSKH"). The fraudulent messages contain a six‑digit OTP code and a link that includes the characters "evn" but points to a domain that does not belong to EVN. Clicking the link can lead to theft of personal data, banking details, and unauthorized access to accounts.

EVN notes that the legitimate EVN CSKH app, which began trial operation on 15 June 2026, sends OTPs only for first‑time login or transaction verification and never attaches a link. The corporation advises customers to: • Never click unknown links in messages claiming to be from EVN; • Never share OTPs, passwords, or banking information with anyone claiming to be EVN staff; • Download the EVN CSKH app only from official Google Play or Apple App Store listings; • Verify the sender’s name and domain before responding.

If a suspicious message is received, customers should contact the official EVN customer‑service hotlines for their region (e.g., 19001288 for Hanoi, 1900545454 for Ho Chi Minh City, etc.) to confirm authenticity and avoid financial loss.
