Vietnam emerges as a rapidly growing global golf tourism destination
Vietnam is rapidly emerging as a premier global destination for golf tourism, driven by significant investments and world-class course designs. According to the National Golf Foundation, more than 50 new golf projects are currently being developed in the country, a rate of growth that exceeds any other nation outside of the United States. The National Golf Foundation further notes that Vietnam's development pace accounts for nearly 50% of all new golf projects in Asia.
Major international figures are shaping the landscape, with courses designed by legends such as Tiger Woods, Greg Norman, and Nick Faldo. Notable developments include a $1.5 billion Trump Organization branded resort in Hung Yen and an 18-hole course being developed by Tiger Woods’ TGR Design south of Ho Chi Minh City.
The Vietnam Golf Association anticipates that the number of golf courses in the country could reach approximately 200 by 2030, more than doubling current figures. This growth is attracting high-spending international travelers and stimulating the luxury service market, supported by a highly-regarded local workforce specialized in tropical golf hospitality.
