Vietnam Emphasizes Public Trust in Renewed Ideological Campaign Ahead of Party Congress
Vietnam is intensifying its political and ideological work by placing public trust at the core of its efforts to strengthen social consensus and support national development goals. The initiative, announced in Hanoi, seeks to adapt the Party’s outreach to a rapidly changing digital information environment, countering what officials describe as “cognitive warfare” and the spread of AI‑generated misinformation.
The drive coincides with the implementation of the 14th National Party Congress resolutions, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly, the operation of a two‑tier local administration model, and a broader restructuring of the Party’s organisational apparatus. Authorities argue that maintaining trust in the Party, the State and the political regime is essential for achieving double‑digit economic growth and the country’s centenary milestones.
Officials stress that unlike past ideological challenges that relied on traditional media, today’s information landscape intermixes accurate and false content within minutes, making rapid verification and correction crucial. The renewed focus on public trust is presented as a preventive measure to sustain unity and mobilisation across Vietnamese society.
