Vietnam energy sector: Duyen Hai power output rises amid scheduled Hue outages
Duyen Hai Thermal Power Company has outlined its production plans for the final months of 2026, focusing on equipment maintenance, repairs, and fuel preparation to meet national power system demands. Managing three plants with a total design capacity of 3,178 MW, the company reported that total electricity output through July 2026 reached 10.6 billion kWh, a 10.6% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Leadership from Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Holding Corporation (TKV) recently inspected coal supply operations at the company to ensure stable fuel availability. The company aims to maintain high unit availability to respond to power mobilization requirements.
Separately, scheduled power outages were announced for various areas in Hue City and A Luoi on August 10, 2026. These outages are intended to facilitate electrical grid maintenance and infrastructure projects, including the installation of poles to support highway projects.
