Vietnam National Assembly passes new laws and establishes parliamentary friendship organization

The National Assembly of Vietnam has passed several key pieces of legislation during its first extraordinary session of the 16th legislature. These include the amended Law on Petroleum, the Law amending and supplementing several articles of the Law on Customs, and the Law on Dissemination and Education of Law.

In the voting for the Law on Petroleum, 473 out of 475 participating delegates voted in favor. The Law on Customs saw 471 votes in favor out of 474 participants, while the Law on Dissemination and Education of Law received 466 affirmative votes from 475 participants. Additionally, the Assembly held discussions regarding the draft amended Penal Code.

Separately, the National Assembly officially established the Organization of Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Groups for the 16th legislature. National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man attended the ceremony, where Do Van Chien, a member of the Politburo and Standing Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, was appointed as the Chairman of the new organization. The initiative aims to strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and serve as a bridge for international cooperation and political trust between Vietnam and other nations.
