Vietnam Exhibition Center features massive Kim Quy steel dome

The Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) in Dong Anh, northeast of Hanoi, features a central structure known as the Kim Quy Exhibition Hall. Inspired by the legend of the Golden Turtle God, the building is designed to position Vietnam among the world's top 10 exhibition complexes.

The facility spans a total area of over 900,000 square meters (approximately 90 hectares). The Kim Quy Exhibition Hall itself covers about 130,000 square meters, with a central height reaching up to 56 meters.

A defining feature of the complex is its massive steel dome, which simulates a turtle shell. Constructed by Dai Dung, the dome has a diameter of approximately 360 meters and utilizes 24,000 tons of steel. The surface area of the dome exceeds 10 hectares, which is equivalent to the size of 14 FIFA standard football pitches.
