Vietnam expands agricultural traceability system for exports

Vietnam’s Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is advancing a national traceability system for agricultural, forestry, and fishery products. Since the system officially began operations on July 1, 2026, nearly 48,800 products from 19 enterprises across nine product lines have been updated in the database.

In total, the system has integrated data for over 158,200 products from 200 enterprises and nearly 3,000 households and cooperatives across 24 provinces and cities. Currently, five locations—Hanoi, Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Quang Ninh, and Dak Lak—have met the necessary conditions to implement traceability.

A key priority for the Ministry is establishing end-to-end traceability for durians. This initiative aims to connect data from growing areas to packaging facilities, testing centers, quarantine services, and export shipments. The Ministry is also working to synchronize its system with national platforms managed by the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
