Vietnam expands diplomatic and economic ties with China, Singapore, and Côte d’Ivoire

Vietnam is engaging in several diplomatic and economic initiatives. The Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed satisfaction with China’s decision to simplify visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens, including a 30-day visa exemption for entry into Hainan province and a 240-hour visa-free transit option. This move is expected to facilitate travel, trade, and cultural exchanges.

In terms of bilateral relations, Patrick Achi, the President of the National Assembly of Côte d’Ivoire, is scheduled to conduct an official visit to Vietnam from August 23 to 26. Additionally, Vietnam and Singapore are moving toward a new strategic partnership, with Tran Cam Tu set to visit Singapore to discuss cooperation in artificial intelligence, the green economy, and digital transformation.

Economic and urban development efforts include a partnership between Ho Chi Minh City and South Korea’s Korea Land & Housing Corporation to develop smart cities, industrial parks, and social housing. Vietnam also continues to strengthen ties with the Mexican Labour Party regarding media training and distribution. On the regulatory front, Vietnam has reaffirmed its commitment to preventing trade fraud and illegal transshipment to ensure compliance with international trade rules.
