Vietnam expands free health screenings with Tan An Hospital and Da Nang city programs

The Tan An International Hospital in Tây Ninh province has joined the 2026 national health examination program, mobilising staff, equipment and funding to bring high‑level medical services closer to residents. By signing a contract under the nationwide health insurance (BHYT) scheme, the hospital allows insured patients to receive examinations and follow‑up care at reduced cost, and provides vouchers worth VND 500,000 for additional tests.

In Da Nang, the city has begun a free, annual health‑check initiative covering nearly one million people, especially the poor, elderly, disabled, ethnic minorities and children. The program uses electronic health records to track results and aims to detect diseases early. Within a month, over 19,000 priority‑group citizens received examinations, and more than 278,000 have been screened to date. Local resident Lê Thị Vân said, "Because of economic difficulty I never had an annual health check, now the free examination at the local clinic is very meaningful," while health‑official La Thị Thông highlighted the proactive, community‑based approach.
