Vietnam expands sustainable finance and technology initiatives

Vietnam’s banking sector is advancing green financing as BIDV launches a "Sustainable Deposit" product for corporate clients. The deposit scheme channels idle corporate funds into projects that meet environmental and social criteria, targeting renewable energy, green infrastructure, and inclusive community services. BIDV expects the product to support its ESG strategy and boost the bank’s role in the country’s green economy.

At the same time, a series of initiatives highlighted across Vietnam’s economy emphasize digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and a transition to a low‑carbon future. Government and private actors are promoting AI‑driven journalism, encouraging enterprises to join global supply chains, and advancing policies from Net‑Zero commitments to renewable‑energy projects. These combined efforts aim to position Vietnam as a competitive, sustainable, and technologically advanced nation by 2045.
