Vietnam expands VNeID digital ID platform with new citizen services

The Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security has released version 2.2.10 of the VNeID electronic identification application, introducing a range of additional digital utilities for the public.

New features include online issuance of a legal background check (Phiếu lý lịch tư pháp), a complaint channel for ID‑card delays, a connection to information about families of war martyrs, and continued integration of electronic documents such as health‑insurance cards, driver’s licences and social‑security cards. Police units in Phú Thọ and Đắk Lắk are urging citizens to update the app to take advantage of streamlined administrative procedures, in line with the government’s Project 06 digital‑transformation programme.
