Vietnam family siblings face debt repayment and caregiving payment disputes

A first‑time mother in Vietnam received a month of postpartum care from her sister‑in‑law, who handled cooking, laundry, cleaning and childcare without charge. At the end of the month the sister‑in‑law asked for 10 million Vietnamese đồng as compensation for lost income, and the couple paid the amount despite feeling uneasy about the timing.

Separately, a sister who borrowed 327 million VND from her older sibling ten years earlier to fund a business venture returned the exact sum after a decade. The repayment was made at a bank, and the older sibling accepted the money, allocating part of it to the grandchildren’s education fund.
