Vietnam Farmers' Union Pushes for Nationwide Agricultural Product Traceability

At the 9th National Farmers' Union congress in Vietnam on June 7, delegates discussed proposals to strengthen digital training for farmers and to implement full‑chain traceability of agricultural products. The aim is to increase transparency, protect honest producers, and improve food safety. Participants highlighted cost gaps between certified organic and conventional produce and called for mechanisms that safeguard genuine farmers. Pilot projects in provinces such as An Giang, Ca Mau and a rice‑value‑chain model by the Lộc Trời Group were presented as examples of end‑to‑end traceability. The Union also emphasized the need to align with Party Resolution 57 on science, technology and digital transformation, proposing four breakthrough tasks for the next term, including extensive training for Union officials and members.
