Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa 2026 opens in Yokohama

The Vietnam Festival in Kanagawa 2026 opened in Yokohama, Japan, under the theme ‘Connecting Hearts, Towards the Future.’ Organized annually since 2015 by the Kanagawa prefectural government in cooperation with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the event aims to strengthen cultural exchange and deepen the relationship between Vietnam and Kanagawa Prefecture.

The opening ceremony was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu, Kanagawa Governor Kuroiwa Yuji, and Vietnam’s Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy. Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu noted that over its ten iterations, the festival has become a familiar cultural meeting point and a bridge for people-to-people exchange between the two nations.

Deputy Minister Trinh Thi Thuy highlighted that this year’s festival continues previous successes by providing a comprehensive space for experiencing Vietnamese culture, including traditional arts and cuisine, to foster mutual understanding and sustainable development between the two sides.
