Vietnam film project launches global casting for cultural promotion

The film project ‘Profile Đất nước của tôi’ (Vietnam: Beyond Words) has announced a large-scale casting call targeting Vietnamese citizens both within the country and those living abroad. Supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Cinema Department, the project aims to promote Vietnam’s national image, values, and cultural identity to enhance the country’s global brand and soft power.

Unlike traditional casting, the selection criteria do not prioritize physical appearance, age, or acting experience. Instead, organizers are seeking individuals of Vietnamese descent who possess a deep love for their homeland and authentic stories to share. Director Lương Đình Dũng expressed his desire to collaborate with the community to tell Vietnam’s vibrant story to a global audience.

The casting process is scheduled to begin on August 15, 2026. Applicants are expected to submit a video clip of no more than one minute expressing their feelings about their homeland.
