Vietnam focuses on governance and digital reform for 2045 goals

Vietnam is focusing on enhancing national governance and digital transformation to achieve its goal of becoming a high-income developed nation by 2045. At the 2026 International Forum on Public Governance, experts emphasized that large national aspirations must be supported by commensurate governance capacity, institutional breakthroughs, and effective human resource management.

Key discussions highlighted the need to transition from mere policy creation to practical accessibility for businesses. Challenges identified include information gaps, implementation discrepancies, and resource disparities. To support economic growth, experts suggested that support for enterprises should be tiered based on scale, ranging from digital skills for micro-enterprises to capital and market access for expanding firms.

Simultaneously, the National Digital Transformation Day events in Hanoi underscored the shift toward utilizing digital resources, AI, and data to improve national management and socio-economic development. The strategic direction involves integrating science, technology, and innovation into the development model to increase productivity and global competitiveness.
