Vietnam food services see high demand for ritual offerings ahead of Ghost Festival

As the Ghost Festival (the 15th day of the 7th lunar month) approaches, food service providers in Vietnam are seeing high demand for ritual offerings and vegetarian feast sets.

In Hà Tĩnh, businesses are preparing various items including sticky rice, chicken, fruit sets, and traditional cakes like lotus seed buns and peach-shaped steamed buns. Customers are increasingly opting for online ordering services to save time while ensuring aesthetic and high-quality offerings for ancestral worship.

In Hà Nội, the mid-range vegetarian feast market, particularly sets priced around 800,000 VND, is seeing significant popularity. Unlike cheaper options that offer 6-7 basic dishes, these mid-range sets provide 8 to 10 diverse dishes, catering to families of 3-5 people. Establishments such as Cỗ chay Thiện Tâm, Cỗ chay Thiện Giác, and Nhà hàng chay Vị Lai are offering varied menus that blend traditional flavors with modern culinary styles, including ingredients like mushrooms, lotus seeds, and fusion Asian-European elements.
