Vietnam football prepares for 2027 Asian Cup amid league reforms

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has implemented several structural changes to its professional league, the V.League, to support the national team's success. During the ninth term of the VFF (2022–2026), the league transitioned to a two-year season model to align with AFC and international schedules. Additionally, the implementation of VAR technology has been a major focus, moving toward full application across all matches in the 2024/25 season to improve transparency and fairness.

In preparation for the 2027 Asian Cup, teams in Group E are finalizing friendly match schedules. Vietnam is set to play Chinese Taipei and Kyrgyzstan during the November FIFA Days. Other teams in the group, including the UAE, South Korea, and Yemen, have also scheduled friendlies against various international opponents to test tactics and lineups ahead of the tournament.
