Vietnam football team announces 28‑player squad for AFF Cup 2026

Coach Kim Sang‑sik has released a provisional 28‑player roster for Vietnam’s national side ahead of the AFF Cup 2026. The list blends established veterans such as goalkeeper Đặng Văn Lâm, defenders Đỗ Duy Mạnh and Phạm Xuân Mạnh, midfielders Nguyễn Quang Hải and Nguyễn Hoàng Đức, and striker Nguyễn Xuân Son with newly naturalised players – goalkeeper Lê Giang Patrik, forward Nguyễn Tài Lộc and midfielder Khoa Ngô – marking their first call‑up.

The squad will train in South Korea starting 22 June before the tournament, which runs from 24 July to 26 August. Vietnam, a three‑time champion, is viewed by regional media as one of the three favourites alongside Thailand and Indonesia. The team is also preparing for the inaugural FIFA ASEAN Cup 2026 scheduled for September‑October.
