Vietnam football team to host international friendly tournament in November

Vietnam national football team FIFA Days Asian Cup 2027 preparation international friendly tournament VFF

The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) has scheduled an international friendly tournament to take place from November 11 to 15, 2026, at Thien Truong Stadium in Ninh Binh. The event serves as preparation for the 2027 Asian Cup and will feature the Vietnam national team competing in a round-robin format against Kyrgyzstan and Chinese Taipei.

Vietnam is scheduled to open the tournament against Chinese Taipei on November 11, followed by a match against Kyrgyzstan on November 15. The selection of these opponents is part of a strategic effort to secure FIFA ranking points ahead of the 2030 World Cup second-round qualifying draw, which is set for December 15.

Following the November matches, the national team plans to face higher-ranked opponents, including Qatar and Japan, in December and January to further test their readiness for the 2027 Asian Cup. Head coach Kim Sang Sik is expected to oversee the squad's development and potentially introduce new players during this period.
