Vietnam GDP projected to surpass Thailand and Hong Kong by 2030

According to the latest projections from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Vietnam's GDP is expected to surpass that of Thailand and Hong Kong by 2030. The IMF forecasts Vietnam's economy will reach a scale of $668 billion by 2030, compared to approximately $648 billion for Thailand and $537 billion for Hong Kong.

Global economic shifts are driving these changes, particularly in supply chains. As U.S. imports from China decrease, production is being redirected to other Asian economies, including Vietnam.

On a global scale, the IMF predicts the world economy will exceed $150 trillion by 2030. The top three global economies are expected to remain the United States, China, and Germany, with the U.S. leading at a projected $37.7 trillion.
