Vietnam gold prices rise following global market shifts

The Vietnamese gold market has experienced significant fluctuations between October 16 and 17, 2026. After a period of stability where SJC gold bars were priced around 140.3–143.3 million VND/tael, prices saw an upward shift on October 17. Major brands including SJC, DOJI, and PNJ reported increases of approximately 600,000 VND/tael, bringing selling prices to roughly 143.9 million VND/tael.

This domestic movement follows trends in the global gold market, which saw a recovery driven by weakening US Treasury yields and a softer US Dollar. Investors are closely monitoring signals from the Federal Reserve regarding interest rate policies. While US inflation data has remained higher than expected, recent remarks from Fed officials have led markets to lower their expectations for a rate hike in October, providing support for precious metals.
