Vietnam gold prices rise in early August

Domestic gold prices in Vietnam edged higher in the first week of August 2026. On 3 August, the Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) raised its buying price to VND 137.5 million per tael and its selling price to VND 141.5 million, while other retailers such as Phú Quý and Bảo Tín Mạnh Hải posted similar increases of about VND 0.5‑0.6 million per tael. The world spot price of gold was around US$4,070‑4,090 per ounce, keeping the local market about VND 10‑11 million per tael above the international level.

By 5 August, prices continued to climb, with SJC, DOJI, Phú Quý and Bảo Tín Mạnh Hải all listing buying prices near VND 138 million and selling prices near VND 141 million per tael. The gold‑ring segment also saw modest gains, with SJC’s ring prices around VND 136‑140 million per tael. These movements reflect the broader rebound in global gold prices and local demand, while the Vietnamese đồng remained relatively stable against the US dollar.
