Vietnam Golden Globe Science and Technology Awards 2026 selection underway
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union held its second council meeting for the 2026 Golden Globe Science and Technology Awards on October 21. Chaired by Secretary Nguyen Tuong Lam, the session focused on reviewing candidate profiles, evaluating research quality, and assessing practical applications to select the 10 most outstanding young talents.
Following an initial meeting that identified 17 typical candidates, the council is now conducting further reviews based on public information and media reports to ensure impartiality and transparency. The awards, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Science and Technology since 2003, aim to honor young individuals with exceptional achievements in scientific research and technological development.
The 2026 awards cover 10 strategic fields: digital technology; next-generation mobile networks, cybersecurity, and quantum technology; robotics and automation; biomedicine, pharmacy, and applied biology; energy and advanced materials; semiconductor chips; environment and sustainable development; marine, ocean, and earth sciences; aerospace; and high-speed and urban railways. Notably, four new categories have been added this year: semiconductor technology, marine and earth sciences, aerospace, and high-speed/urban railway technology.
