Vietnam Government repeals 24 outdated decrees
Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau has signed Decree 356/2026/ND-CP, which repeals or partially modifies 24 government decrees. This action aims to clean up the legal system by removing regulatory documents that are no longer applied in practice but lacked a formal legal basis for termination under previous laws.
The decree seeks to ensure transparency and compliance with the Law on Promulgation of Legal Normative Documents. Specifically, the government is completely repealing 18 decrees, including those related to the National Reserve Department, administrative penalties in cultural activities, and regulations regarding identity cards (ID cards).
Additionally, the decree modifies several other regulations, such as those concerning the activities of Vietnamese representative offices abroad for economic development and the transfer of the State Securities Commission to the Ministry of Finance.
